Here are 4 ways to maintain healthy gumsProper dental hygiene practices are important if you want to maintain healthy gums. With poor dental habits, you will be exposing your gums to various issues which can lead to loss of teeth. Gums are important because they hold your teeth in place and also improve your smile. It is therefore crucial that you follow dental hygiene procedures that will maintain the health of your gums.

Brushing At Least Twice Per Day

Brushing your teeth and gums is important to avoid the accumulation of plaque, which can lead to bacterial infections. When you get gum disease your dental health will be at serious risk. The recommended practice is to brush at least twice a day and especially after meals to remove food particles that can be left or stuck on gums and teeth.

Flossing every day

Flossing your teeth and gums is an important habit that removes food particles stuck in between teeth. Flossing disrupts and prevents the accumulation of bacteria in these areas of your mouth where the toothbrush is unable to reach.

Changing Your Toothbrush Regularly

Replacing your toothbrush is crucial in maintaining healthy gums. Your toothbrush can accumulate germs and bacteria over time, and this represents a threat to your dental health. When you get a new toothbrush, you will avoid taking bacteria and germs back into your mouth.

Regular Dental Visits

It is important to see our dentist regularly, who will monitor the development of your gum health. When they see any problems beginning to form, they can help to start preventive and corrective treatments. Visits our practice to ensure that you maintain the health of your gums, for optimal oral health.
